Get Others Involved!

It is important not only to be personally involved but also to mobilize others in your community
to bring social, political, or economic change. Local involvement via a grassroots movement is an impactful way to unify like-minded people and influence policy changes at the local, national, or
even international level.

In practice, there are two major types of grassroots movements:

  • Efforts to mobilize individuals to turn out to vote either for/against a certain
  • legislative proposal or for a specific candidate in an upcoming election.
  • Efforts to mobilize individuals/organizations to contact a policymaker or other
  • individual with influence to take a particular action.
